Psychological Assessment

Psychological assessment is a comprehensive process used to better understand how an individual thinks, feels, learns, and functions in daily life. It goes beyond a single test, integrating information from standardized measures, clinical interviews, and behavioral observations to form a more complete picture of a person’s experiences.

Assessments can help clarify diagnoses, identify strengths and areas of difficulty, and provide direction for treatment, academic planning, or personal growth. They are often sought out when something feels unclear, whether related to attention struggles, learning difficulties, emotional functioning, or patterns of behavior, the assessment process can offer meaningful insights and guidance.

Our approach is thoughtful and collaborative, with an emphasis on accuracy, clarity, and respect for each individual’s unique experience. The goal is not only to provide answers, but to offer a deeper understanding that feels useful, grounded, and supportive moving forward.

Specializations: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Inattention/Hyperactivity, Behavioral & Personality, Learning Disorders

  • A psychological assessment involves a series of standardized tests, interviews, and observations used to better understand how an individual thinks, feels, and functions. We begin by scheduling an intake session where we gather relevant information and discuss the goals and appropriateness of the assessment. Next we schedule assessment testing sessions where you and/or your child participate in standardized psychological measures, complete parent/teacher/self-rated forms, and the examiner gains observations. Following these sessions, the examiner will provide you with a detailed feedback session in which your diagnostic profile will be discussed as well as treatment recommendations, followed by a confidential psychological assessment report.

  • We offer a range of assessments tailored to individual needs. This may include evaluations for diagnostic clarification, learning differences, attention concerns, and emotional or behavioral functioning. Both of our doctorate clinicians are trained in various assessment measures and provide comprehensive batteries to assist in answering your assessment referral questions.

  • The timeline can vary depending on the type of evaluation, but most assessments are completed over multiple appointments, followed by the feedback session and then the comprehensive report. From start to finish, the process takes approximately 1.5 months.

  • All psychological assessment testing sessions occur in person, in our office with the exception of the initial intake.

  • Assessments can be helpful for children, adolescents, and adults who are seeking clarity, support, or guidance in understanding their experiences.

  • We are currently a private pay practice, with plans to begin accepting insurance in the near future.

  • Assessment fees vary depending on the type, scope, and complexity of the evaluation. The initial consultation is $200 and includes a review of current concerns, relevant background history, and development of an individualized evaluation plan.

  • You can reach out through our contact page to schedule an initial consultation. We’ll walk you through the process and help determine the most appropriate next steps.

Children and Adolescent Services

  • We offer therapy services for children and adolescents on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule that is guided by each child’s pace, readiness, and developmental needs. Our approach recognizes that treatment is most effective when it reflects not only the concerns that bring a child in, but also where they are developmentally and what types of support are most appropriate and beneficial for them at that stage.

We also place strong emphasis on understanding the broader context of the child’s experience, including family relationships and dynamics. Because children do not exist in isolation, therapy may include family sessions or time with individual caregivers when helpful, with attention to each parent’s relationship with their child and the ways those relationships shape emotional and behavioral functioning.

This collaborative approach allows for a more complete understanding of your child’s needs and helps create meaningful, consistent support across environments.

  • We offer comprehensive psychological assessment services for children and adolescents that are paced with the child’s comfort in mind. Our clinicians take a slower, developmentally informed approach to ensure that each examinee feels safe and able to engage in the process. Assessment is not simply about recieving test results, it is about understanding your child as a whole, including their strengths, challenges, and the context in which they are growing and developing.

A comprehensive psychological evaluation can feel invasive at times, as it requires gathering information across multiple areas of a child’s life, including family dynamics, school experiences, emotional functioning, and behavioral patterns. We approach this process with care and transparency, recognizing the importance of building trust with both you and your child.

For parents, assessment can provide clarity, direction, and a new way of understanding their child’s behaviors. Rather than focusing solely on diagnosis, our goal is to create a supportive and therapeutic environment that allows families to better understand their child’s unique needs, reactions, and ways of engaging with the world. The outcome is not just a report, but a more informed and compassionate perspective that can guide meaningful next steps.
